Dorothy (Roehm) McQuinn 89, of No. Truro, died at Seashore Point on June 10, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Stamford on March 5, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Anna (Kovacks) Roehm. She retired from teaching school in the Stamford school system in 1991 with the intention of moving to Truro permanently. Her love of the outer cape was generational. Her grandparents spent their honeymoon here and she had a lifetime of Cape Cod memories with her own parents. So in 1993, she moved to No. Truro from Ridgefield, CT. Mrs. McQuinn could be described as someone who was “definitely her own person,” meaning she set personal intentions, focused, worked hard and achieved her goals. She is someone who took responsibility for her own life.
During her years in No. Truro she kept busy tutoring children, taking care of her horse and her dogs. Recently, her son Roy McQuinn moved to No. Truro to care for and spend time with her.
Besides her son Roy, she is survived by her daughter Kathleen Berger and her husband Dana of Coventry, CT, her daughter in law Fe McQuinn of Stamford, CT and her former daughter in law Rose McQuinn of Seal Harbor, ME. She was the grandmother of 5 grandchildren including Godfrey and Walter Berger, James “Jed” McQuinn, Andrew McQuinn and Jennifer McQuinn. She was the mother of the late James McQuinn.
Her family is planning to honor her life with a memorial service at the end of the summer.
