Obituary

CHICOPEE – Jeannette I. (Boisvert) Boutin, 90, a longtime resident of McKinstry Avenue in the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, July 26, 2014. She passed into Eternal Life at Life Care Center in Wilbraham surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born at home in the Springdale section of Holyoke on April 8, 1924, a beloved daughter of the late Philias Boisvert and Maria J. (LaFlamme) Boisvert. She was raised in Holyoke, graduated in 1942 from the former Precious Blood High School and lived in Holyoke for many years. In 1947, she moved to the Willimansett section of Chicopee and lived there until moving to the Aldenville section of Chicopee in 1985. She was employed at the former Hadley Trust Company in Holyoke and was last employed as a supervisor at the former Holyoke National Bank, which later became Bank of Boston, working at their Willimansett branch in Chicopee. Most of all, Jeannette was a wonderful homemaker to her family. She showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. Active in her faith, she was a longtime communicant of the former Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Willimansett where she was a member of the Ladies of Saint Anne Sodality. She was also a member of Le Cercle des Dames Francaises. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Clement A. Boutin who was Called Home on September 29, 2003. They were married on November 24, 1945 at the former Precious Blood Church in Holyoke and were blessed with over 57 years of happiness together. She leaves her loving children, Kenneth C. Boutin and his wife, Rosalie, of South Hadley, Diane M. Fontaine and her husband, Roger Fontaine, Jr., of Wilbraham, and Karen A. Budz of Chicopee; her eight cherished grandchildren, Eric Boutin, Michelle Warga and her husband, Jesse, Adam Boutin and his wife, Katharine, Tamara Scharf and her husband, Stephen, Jeffrey Fontaine and his wife, Karen, Gregory Fontaine and his wife, Jasmine, Jacquelyn Baum and her husband, Zachary, and Collin Budz; her six cherished great-grandchildren whom she adored, Emma and Ava Scharf, Nora and Madelyn Fontaine, and Nolan and Finn Fontaine; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, and extended members of the Boutin and Boisvert families. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her loving sister, Rhea A. Boisvert. Her family would like to thank her wonderful caregivers at Keystone Commons in Ludlow and Life Care Center in Wilbraham for their compassionate care over the past years. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday morning, July 30, 2014 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday morning, July 30, 2014 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. before the Mass. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family has requested that memorial donations be made in her memory to the Saint Joan of Arc School, 587 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
