SPRINGFIELD – Richard A. “Bosco” Bousquet, 59, of the East Springfield section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, July 26, 2014. He passed into Eternal Life at Wingate at Springfield surrounded by all the memories he loved and cherished. He was born in Springfield on February 15, 1955, a beloved son of the late Arthur U. and Fernande L. (Antaya) Bousquet. He was raised in Springfield, graduated in 1972 from Classical High School and was a lifelong resident of Springfield. He furthered his education by attending North Adams State College. He served his country during the Vietnam Era from 1972 to 1976 in the United States Coast Guard. Following his military service, he returned to Springfield and was last employed for 21 years in the Culinary Department at the Hampden County House of Correction in Ludlow before retiring in 2009. During his leisure time, “Bosco” enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas and the beaches at Cape Cod. He was an avid golfer and New York Yankees fan. He leaves his four brothers, William A. Bousquet and his wife, Carolyn, of Springfield, James R. Bousquet of Easthampton, and Michael J. Bousquet and Robert J. Bousquet and his wife, LuAnn, all of Springfield; his eight nephews and nieces; and his many friends including his longtime close friends, Donnie McCray and Kathy Fleury. A Service of Committal with US Coast Guard Military Honors will be held on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001.
