Art was born June 24, 1946 to Fred & Marcella (Meister) Steinkamp in Carroll, IA. Art grew up on a farm and attended school in Laurens. IA. After graduation he enlisted in the AirForce serving 5 years with 4 tours in VietNam. He earned an Associate's Degree then started his own construction company building and remodeling houses. He loved gardening, traveling, and family. He was preceded in death by parents & 2 brothers, Matt & Bob. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joyce (Madden); sons Jim (Dori), Jeff (Tina), and Mike. Others include grandchildren, brother John (Mary), sister-in-law Dee, brother-in-law Roger Madden, nieces, nephews and Lisa Paul. Memorial Service Tuesday, July 29 at 1:00 PM at SUMMERHILL OF MAPLEWOOD, 935 Ferndale St. N., Maplewood, MN 55119. Private interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
