Jean Lucille (Holt) Moore, 88, of Anderson died July 21, 2014 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital.
She was born, December 6, 1925, the daughter of George C. and Eva (Case) Holt in Yale, Michigan where she graduated as Valedictorian in 1944 at Yale High School; then graduated from Asbury University in 1948.
She worked as assistant librarian at Asbury University following graduation and obtained masters degree from Peabody/Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.
In 1952, she came to Anderson College as a librarian. In 1958, she began to pursue her doctorate in Library science at Indiana University. In 1965, she began working with Anderson Community Schools as a librarian and retired in 1991 after 26 years.
She attended Park Place Church of God. She was a member of A.A.U.W. and the Antique Study Group; member of Carissa Club and Progress Club. She enjoyed entertaining, reading and music. She was an accomplished pianist.

She is survived by her daughter, Jeneva C. Moore of Anderson; stepson, Allen (Barbara) Moore of Kokomo; daughter-in-law, Nancy Moore of Cincinnati, OH; six grandchildren, Colleen (Colin) Craig; Dione (Dave) Williams; Malinda (Jay) Johnson; Martha (Michael) Pearson; David (Anne) Moore; Cindy (Eric) Gould; seventeen great grandchildren and special canine companion "Izzy".
She was preceded in death by her husband, A. Wayne Moore and her step-son, James E. Moore.
Service will be at Noon on Friday, July 25, 2014 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Carma Wood officiating with burial in East Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, July 24 from 4 to 7 P.M. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service and also one hour prior to the funeral on Friday.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Humane Society; Christian Center Rescue Ministries or Park Place Church of God Food Pantry.
