WORCESTER-Mary B. (Baker) Christy, 89, of 27 Woodbine Street died Thursday, November 18th in St. Vincent Hospital. Her husband of 60 years Joseph M. Christy died last year. She leaves a son Michael and his wife Linda Christy of Oxford, a daughter Kathleen M. Christy and a sister Sade Novik both of Worcester, 4 grandchildren Edward and his wife Carrie Walsh of Worcester, Michael Walsh of Miami, Stephanie wife of Scott Wharton and Michelle wife of Al Suklis, 2 great-grandchildren Michael and Erika Wharton all of Webster. A son Kevin Christy died in 1991.
She was born in Leominster the daughter of Peter and Bertha (Tettazzian) Baker and had worked in the doctor’s cafeteria at Worcester City Hospital for many years until it closed. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother; and enjoyed artwork, creating portraits of stars, reading and the ocean. Mrs. Christy was a long time member of St. Peter’s Church.
The funeral is Saturday, November 20th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Peter’s Church, 959 Main Street. Burial is in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Friday, November 19th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
