Obituary

Vanqueisha Tierra Rena “Nay” Carr was born October 26, 1993 to Velvet (Missy) Carr and the late Walter L. Williams, who preceded her in death. She confessed hope in Christ at Miles Memorial C.M.E. Church in Water Valley, MS and later joined Sanders Chapel M.B. Church. Services will be held at the Water Valley Civic Auditorium, Saturday, July 19th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Mitchell Steen will be officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, July 18th, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS.

Nay, as she was affectionately called, departed this life on July 12th, 2014 at her residence of Oxford, MS. She attended the Water Valley High School and later went to Northwest Mississippi Community College, where she received her degree as a Certified Nursing Assistant, also receiving a Student of the Year Award.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Kamya Rena Carr. Five sisters: Latashia, Sequoya, Dearra, Teriah, and Amalarie; five brothers: Stacy, Demond, Kyntorris, all of Charleston, MS; and Corey and Cornelius of Water Valley, MS. Her grandmothers, Teresa Carr of Water Valley, MS and Catherine Williams of Charleston, MS. Her grandfathers, Calvin Miller of Charleston, MS and Russell Lee Carr, who preceded her in death. Also, Curtis Lewis (Stepfather) of Water Valley, MS. Ten aunts; eight uncles and a host great-aunts, great-uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
