SALEM- R. Elinor (Cathcart) Little, 85, wife of the late Robert I. Little, Sr., of Memorial Drive Salem, died Monday evening, March 19, 2001 in the Hunt Nursing & Retirement Home following a brief illness.
Born in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Ralph W. and Ethel A.(Stevenson) Cathcart.
Raised and educated in Salem, she was a resident of the city for most of her life.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the New England Telephone Co. in Salem for many years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
She is survived by one son, Robert I. Little, Jr. of Salem, one daughter and son-in-law, Susan G. and Curtis E. Jones Jr. of Beverly, eight grandchildren, Jessica A. Little of New York, New York, Cassandra J. Little of Salem, Mark D. Jones, Cynthia L. Carbone, Curtis E. Jones, III, all of Beverly, Robin L. Flynn of Danvers, Melissa L. MacDonald of Saugus, John P. Jones of Manchester, New Hampshire, four great grandchildren, Brittany A. Flynn and Brianna A. Flynn of Danvers and Christopher S. Carbone and Collin M. Carbone, both of Beverly.
Her funeral service was held on Friday, March 23, 2001 at 10 AM in the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, with Rev. Molly Phinney, Pastor of the Second Congregational Church, Beverly, officiating. Visiting hours were Thursday, 4 to 7 PM. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
