ATTLEBORO- Q. (Queenie) Anne (Meisner) Bloomberg, 92, of Attleboro, formerly of Salem, Danvers, Salisbury, Ayer and Cape Cod, died Tuesday eveing, May 15, 2001, in the Bristol Nursing Home, Attleboro, following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Philip D. Bloomberg.
Born in Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Victoria (Boutilier) Meisner.
She was a graduate of Halifax (Nova Scotia) High School then moved to the United States and attended Malden Secretarial School in Malden, Mass.
Mrs Bloomberg lived in Salem for over 20 years where her husband managed the Paramount Theater and later owned and managed the Empire Theater. While living in Salem, she was a member of the First Baptist Church, Salem. She then lived in Danvers, Salisbury and Ayer.
Together, she and her husband founded and were original members of the board of directors of the King's Grant in Beverly. Mrs Bloomberg later operated a gift shop in Salisbury before her retirement.
A resident of Cape Cod since 1978, she worked part-time for the Camp Fire Girls in the mid-Cape area. and attended the Baptist Church in So. Yarmouth before moving to the upper Cape. She resided in the Heritage Nursing Home in Sandwich before moving to the Bristol Nursing Home in Attleboro in 1999.
She is survived by one son, M. Richard Bloomberg of Attleboro and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She was the sister of the late Sadie Schlagenhauf, Hazel Baker Dodge, Charlie Meisner, Claude Meisner, Marjorie Miltimore, Clifford Meisner, Daisy Smith and Edward Blake Meisner.
Her funeral service was held on Friday, May 18, 2001, at 1 pm in the funeral home, with Rev. Merle R. "Skip" Pimentel, Interim Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Salem, officiating.
