Meredith-Marilyn (Shurtleff) Plummer, 85, of 3 Tucker Mountain Road died Monday morning, June 30, 2014 at Golden View Health Care Center after a period of declining health.
Marilyn was born on August 23, 1928 in East Bridgewater, MA, the daughter of the late Leonard F. and Mary F. (Cornish) Shurtleff. She was raised in Bradford, MA and was a graduate of Haverhill High School Class of 1946. She was a graduate of Burdett School of Business in Boston. She had been a resident of Meredith since 1962. She had been employed by Scott and Williams in Laconia and later was a longtime Clerk of the Zoning and Planning Boards for the Town of Meredith.
Marilyn was a Worthy Advisor in the Rainbow Sorority in Haverhill, MA. She was a longtime breeder of Collies, having established Hermit Hill Collies in 1969. Marilyn held various offices in the Collie Club of New Hampshire and Lakes Region Kennel Club of which she was a life member.
Marilyn is survived by her son, David W. Plummer and his wife Joanne of Las Vegas, NV; her daughter, Nancy E. Plummer of Meredith; her brother, Ambassador Leonard G. Shurtleff of Gainesville, FL; her grandsons, Shane D. Plummer of Concord, and Alex W. Plummer of Center Harbor. In addition to her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her husband, Warner M. Plummer in 1987.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 12:00 noon at the family lot in Bayside Cemetery, 1350 Union Avenue, Laconia.
