Donald J. St. Pierre 79 of Salem, passed away with his family by his side, Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He was the husband of his devoted wife, Pauline M. (Michaud) St. Pierre, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Eugene and Irene M.B. (Gagnon) St. Pierre. Don was a well known auto mechanic in the greater Salem area and was the owner of St. Pierre’s Garage until his retirement in the early 1990’s. Affectionately known as the “Candy Man” Don was an avid golfer. He was also a long time member of Ste. Anne Parish of Salem.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Janet Scott and her husband James of Cape Neddick, ME, Eileen Owens and Joe Mc Dermott of Beverly, two sons, Donald G. St. Pierre of North Berwick, ME, Timothy E. St. Pierre of Salem, three sisters, Yvette Conley of Beverly, Joan M. Madore of Salem and Linda D. Andino and her husband Joe of Palmetto, FL. He also leaves 13 grandchildren, Aimee and Pat Murray, Jim &Andrew Scott, Nicole & Rich Penta, Kyle, Connor & Colby Irving, April, Donald & Dylan St. Pierre, Tabitha & Melissa St. Pierre, Stefanie La Bozetta, 2 great-grandchildren, Adrianna La Bozetta and Emily Penta as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Norman R. St. Pierre.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem, on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 9:30 A.M. to be followed by his funeral mass in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem at 10:30 A.M. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be on Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M.
