Obituary

L. C. Simpson, 74, of Tifton died Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. A. D. Connell and Rev. Gerald Lee will officiate with burial to follow in Turner Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Richard Purvis, Jamie Purvis, Jeff Dove, Charlie Horton, John Davis and Edward Horton will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 10, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mr. Simpson was born on January 7, 1940 in Tift County and was the son of Curtis Simpson and Leonia Goddard Simpson, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Simpson and Robert Simpson; and one sister, Mavis Purvis. He was the owner of Simpson Contracting Company and was a member of New River Free Holiness Church in Berrien County. He collected tractors and enjoyed his horses.

Mr. Simpson is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Curt and Joann Simpson and Tony and Mary Simpson, all of Tifton; one daughter, Pam Simpson of Tifton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe and Janice Simpson and Randall and Mary Simpson, all of Tifton; four grandchildren, David Simpson, Justin Simpson, Laeken Simpson and Haley Simpson; one great-grandchild, Aubrey Simpson; and two step great-grandchildren, Cayden Phillips and Ryder Propes.
