WESTWOOD: Charlotte (Kechejian) Bashian, age 87, a Fox Hill Village resident, formerly of Norwood, died peacefully on Monday, July 7, 2014, at Beaumont Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Natick after a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Astor P. Bashian for 55 years.
Born in Hyde Park, Charlotte and her husband Astor raised their sons and made their home in Norwood for over 50 years. Charlotte relished creating a warm and loving home for her husband and sons, was an excellent cook, and warmly welcomed all who came to her door. She had a love of musicals and participated in many annual productions benefiting Norwood Hospital. She was also a Norwood Hospital volunteer for over forty years.
She loved to play bridge, and she and Astor played golf frequently, and enjoyed traveling. They were longtime members of Grace Episcopal Church in Norwood. When Astor died in 2006, Charlotte moved to Fox Hill Village where she made new friends playing bridge, poker, and singing in the Fox Hill Chorus.
She is survived by her sons, Gary Bashian of Nashua, NH, and Glen Bashian and his wife Cheryl of Sudbury. Her brother, Leo Killian, predeceased her. She will be greatly missed by her loving sons and devoted daughter-in-law.
Funeral services will be private. Donations may be made in Charlotte’s memory to Grace Episcopal Church, 150 Chapel Street, Norwood, MA 02062.
