Obituary

ESSEX- Stella A. (Kulik) Ciesinski Ogonowski, 87, of Essex, formerly of Salem, wife of the late John Ogonowski and the late Thomas Ciesinski, died Friday evening, June 22, 2001, in the Beverly Hospital following a long illness.

Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Tadeusz and Adela (Baklaszewicz) Kulik. She was educated in Salem schools and was a resident of the city until moving to Essex in 1972 and was a lifelong member of the St John The Baptist Church in Salem.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed for many years as a consultant for Elizabeth Arden in Boston. She was also the manager of the fine jewelry department at Filenes Department store in Boston.

Mrs. Ogonowski’s hobbies included gardening, cooking and extensive travel to numerous countries, with her favorite destination being Poland.

She is survived by her niece and care giver, Jane Skirucha of Essex with whom she resided, one cousin Edward Ciesinski of Beverly and several relatives in Poland.

Her funeral service was held on Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at 9 am from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 am at the St John The Baptist Church, Salem. Visitation was Tuesday morning from 9 to 9:45, prior to the funeral Mass. Burial was in St Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
