Benjamin Bloom, 82, of Newton, NH died Wed., July 2nd at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Benjamin was born and educated in Lawrence, MA. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired as a Senior Technician from Textron in Lowell, MA. Benjamin was a member of the American Legion in Plaistow and a life member of the Salem VFW Post #8546. He enjoyed woodworking and yard sales.
He was predeceased by his parents, Pauline (Rosenthal) and Harry Bloom, his siblings and his son, Gary.
Benjamin is survived by:
his beloved wife of 61 years, Shirley (Jackson) Bloom of Newton,
his sons, Bryan and his wife Lynda of Lancaster, NH,
Scott and his wife Christine of Newton, NH,
his 3 granddaughters, Stephanie and her husband Timothy Shea and Brittany and Bryana Bloom and his 3 great granddaughters, Kiaya, Rose and Molly Shea and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Monday, July 7th from 4-7 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. The Funeral Service will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:30 AM at the Funeral Home. Cremation will follow.
