Obituary

Kenneth R. Miller, 94, of Franklin died July 1 in the Franklin Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of E. Jean ( Mackintosh) Miller for the past 69 years. She was the love of his life.
Born in Franklin, December 25, 1919, the son of the late Roland and Myra (Winant) Miller. Mr. Miller was a lifelong Franklin resident.
Ken and his brother Leslie “Hockey” Miller operated Miller Motor Sales in Franklin. In 1961, Ken founded Miller Truck Sales and operated it until his retirement in 1992.
After graduating Franklin High School, Ken worked for Pratt Whitney, East Hartford CT., as an overseas contractor in England during World War II. After returning from Europe, he was drafted and served in the US Army Air Corps stationed with the occupational forces in Japan, and attained the rank of Corporal.
Ken and his wife, Jean, loved camping. They spent many summers camping at Pinewood Lodge in Plymouth, Mass. and wintered at their home in Lillian, Alabama.
He was a member of Excelsior Lodge of Masons and the Franklin VFW. Ken was an advisor to the Franklin Red Devils Car Club in the 1950’s and also was a volunteer firefighter for the town of Franklin. He enjoyed his pet dogs Ginger and Penny, and cat, Muffins.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Stephen Miller and his wife Cheryl of Franklin, Janet Robinson and her husband Charles of Foxboro, and Douglas Miller and his wife Catherine of Wrentham.
Ken was the brother of the late Leslie Miller, Sr.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Alyson, Kirsten, Kevin, David, William, Bridget, Lauren and Adam…and great grandchildren, Aidan. Shae, Ethan, Tyler, Max and Kathryn.
His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 8th in the Ginley Funeral Home in Franklin ( www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin at 10am.
Burial will be at Union Street Cemetery.
Calling hours will be on Monday, July 7 at the Ginley Funeral Home from 4-7 PM.In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Ken’s memory to the Salmon VNA, 37 Birch Street, Milford MA 02757.
