Mr. Gaetano A. Farinato, age 82 died on Tuesday November 16, 2004 in Medford at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Born in Somerville he was the son of the late Civita (DiBiase) & Umberto Farinato. Gaetano was a Medford resident for the last 9 years, formerly of Somerville.
Gaetano was a US Navy veteran of World War II. After returning to Somerville, Gaetano worked as a shoemaker for Stride Rite Shoe Co. of Boston. He retired on September 17, 1977 after 27 years of service for Stride Rite.
Gaetano is survived by his beloved wife Ruth Farinato. Devoted father of John, Edward, Marie Barry and Richard Libby all of Medford, Ruthanne Farinato of Revere and Helen Farinato of Somerville. Also survived by 11 loving grandchildren and 2 loving great grandchildren. Brother of Elizabeth Teves of Somerville and the late John, Ralph, Louis, Joseph and Raymond Farinato.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday Nov. 19 at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
