CHICOPEE – Eleanor M. (Jangrow) Samson, 83, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, June 29, 2014. She passed into Eternal Life at the Hospice of the Fisher Home in Amherst surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born in Westfield on April 1, 1931, a beloved daughter of the late Francis and Mildred (Brazee) Jangrow. She was raised in Westfield, attended local schools and lived in Westfield for many years before moving to the Fairview section of Chicopee around 1954. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Frank L. Samson, Sr. who was Called Home on May 2, 2012. They were married on September 19, 1953 at Saint Mary Church in Westfield and were blessed with over 58 years of happiness together. She leaves her two loving children, Debbie A. Parent and her husband, Mark, and Frank L. Samson, Jr., all of Chicopee; her three cherished grandchildren, Sarah Aubrey and her husband, Michael, Christopher Young and Rachel Young; her two cherished great grandsons, Noah Aubrey and Adam Aubrey; her dear sister-in-law, Rita Wysk of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins and extended members of the Samson and Jangrow families. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Service of Committal on Wednesday afternoon, July 2, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001.
