Obituary

THOMPSON, CT – William P. “Billy” Walkowiak, 41, of 62 Wilsonville Road, in the Grosvenordale section of Thompson, died Saturday, November 13, as the result of a motor vehicle accident on Wagher Road.

He leaves his parents, Francis J. “Lolly” and Frances E. (Santilli) Walkowiak; a sister, Janet L. Mielewski and her husband Bogi; 2 nephews, Christopher and Jonathan Mielewski, all of Webster; and his best buddy Kade Amster, who lived with him and whom he lived for.

He was born and raised in Webster, and moved to Thompson 10 years ago. He graduated from Saint Joseph Elementary School in Webster and attended Bay Path in Charlton.

Mr. Walkowiak was a heavy equipment operator for the department of public works of the town of Webster. He enjoyed four wheelers and his Harley-Davidson, which he rode in several charity bike runs. He was an enthusiastic ice fisherman.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, November 17, from Scanlon Funeral Service, East Main Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street, Webster. Burial will be private. Calling hours are from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday evening, November 16, at the funeral home.

Flowers are to be omitted. Instead, the family requests donations be made to the Kade Amster Trust Fund, c/o Hometown Bank, 31 Sutton Avenue, Oxford, MA 01540, or to Saint Joseph Basilica School Immediate Needs Fund, 53 Whitcomb St., Webster, MA 01570.
