Obituary

Francis A. Blash, 90, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at his home. He leaves 2 sons- Dan and his wife Elizabeth Blash of Auburn, and Francis M. Blash of Whitinsville; 3 grandchildren Ellen, Daniel, and James Blash; 2 sisters- Nellie Peterson of Worcester, to whom he was very close, and Helen Borek and her husband Joe of Delaware; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Ellen (Schulze) Blash, his brother Eddie, his sister Ethel, and a granddaughter Shannon Blash.

Francis was born in Worcester, son of the late Adolph and Agnes (Gregory) Blash. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for over 20 years, including during WWII. He enjoyed being outdoors, walking, and spending time with family and friends. The family would like to thank Notre Dame Hospice and Francis' private CNAs for their compassionate care.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014 from 9:30-10:30 am in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in North Cemetery, Oxford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's: Trinity program, P.O.
