Janet Louise (Richardson) Cheever
Jan. 22, 1936 - June 23, 2014

Janet Louise (Richardson) Cheever, 78, of Anderson died June 23, 2014 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after an extended illness.

She was born January 22, 1936 in Anderson to Dallas and Evelyn (Weighous) Richardson and graduated from Anderson High School in 1954.

As a young lady, she worked as a Secretary at the Y.M.C.A.; Children's department at Montgomery Ward and as Payroll Supervisor at Anderson Community Schools until her retirement in 1986 to care for her grandsons.

She attended Fifth Street United Methodist Church and Eastview Church of the Nazarene.
She was a member of Redbud Quilt Guild; played bridge monthly with her Junior and Senior High girlfriends. She loved to sew, do crafts and vacation in Redington Beach, FL yearly. She was very involved with her grandsons and loved watching their activities.

Survivors include her husband, Harold L. Cheever of Anderson whom she married May 25, 1956 in Anderson; her two daughters, Laura (Larry) Hill of Anderson; Dianna Cheever of Shelbyville who has been a kindergarten teacher at Indianapolis Public Schools for 29 years; two grandsons of Denver, Colorado, Colin Hill (fiancée Emily Thompson); Graham Hill; brother-in-law, Sande (Mary) Grieb of Anderson; nieces & nephews: Cindy (Charlie) Soden of Anderson; Shelly (Roger) Drennon of Anderson; Jenny Stangle of Arizona; several other nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews; Harold's family, Dave (Susie) Cheever of FL; Gordon (Anita) Cheever of Muncie; Steve Cheever of Anderson; Mary Ann (Kay) Sheward of FL; Nancy Currey of Anderson; Jody (Ron) Tischler of Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and their wives, Fred (Mid) Richardson; Donald (Jo) Richardson; Robert "Andy" (Lou) Richardson; a sister, Phyllis Grieb; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill Cheever, Lonadine (Kenny) White, Pat Penrod, James Cheever and Richard Cheever.

Please join us for a gathering of family and friends from 3:00-6:00pm on Friday, June 27, 2014 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service. A celebration of her life will be at 6:00pm with Charlie Soden officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to Madison County Humane Society or Eastview Church of the Nazarene.
