Philip Correia, 67, of West Wareham died March 24, 2002 at Tobey Hospital after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Lorraine (Bollea) Correia, and son of the late John and Maria (Gama) Correia.
Mr. Correia was born in New Bedford and had lived in New Bedford for many years before moving to West Wareham in 1980.
He was employed as an inspector with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Telecommunications and Energy.
Mr. Correia served in the U.S. Army, and was a former assistant basketball coach at Holy Family High School from 1969 to 1972.
He was a former member of Hawthorne Country Club in Dartmouth and Reservation Golf Club in Mattapoisett.
Survivors include his wife; a brother, John Correia, Jr of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Margaret Rapoza and Laura Moldin, both of New Bedford; a godchild, Jennifer Duval of Boston; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Jordan Correia, Elias "Leo" Correia, Joseph Correia, Aldora Rose and Mary Khoury.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, Wednesday, March 27th at 8:30 AM.
Visiting hours Tuesday, March 26th from 4-8 PM.
Interment Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne.
