Obituary

Garret James Skinner, 27, of Boston, formerly of N. Dighton and Ipswich, died suddenly on Saturday, June 14, 2014 after a long struggle with addiction and PTSD.

Garret was a kind and sensitive soul with a great sense of humor. He loved his family, cooking and working with computers. He was proud of his experience in a computer internship. Garret loved animals and they always took to him. Garret touched many people but he never realized what a strength his easy going and caring nature was.

Garret was deeply loved and will be sadly missed. He leaves his mother, Judith Skinner of North Attleboro, his father John Skinner, Jr. of Nashua NH, his grandfathers, Albert Oliveira of North Dighton and John Skinner of Canada, three siblings, John (Jake) Skinner, III, his wife Amy and their son Jake of Nashua, NH; his sister, Jennifer Medas, her husband Graham, and their daughter Kaylee of Raynham; and Shaine Sprague of North Attleboro. He was particularly fond of his brother Shaine and his niece Kaylee. He also leaves aunts, an uncle, cousins and many friends.

He was predeceased by two uncles, Albert J. Oliveira and very recently, Daniel Oliveira, and an aunt, Louisa (Penny) Skinner LaPointe, as well as his grandmothers Beatrice Oliveira and Claire Skinner.

Visiting hours will be 4:00-7:30 at the Taunton Funeral Home, 8 Crapo St., Taunton, MA, Sunday, June 22, with a memorial service directly following. The family would be honored if donations in his memory were made to Father Bill’s and MainSpring, Development Office, 422 Washington St., Quincy, MA 02169 or https://helpfbms.org/donatetoday
