Lavada Willis Bush, 93, of Omega died Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2014, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Doug Gibson and Samuel Hussey will officiate with burial to follow in Omega Cemetery. Earl Griffin, John Bush, Lee Bush, Jeff Bush, Jesse Bush and Trent Doss will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be J. T. Bush, Andy Latham, Don Tawzer and Brad Mosher. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 20, 2014, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Bush was born on September 24, 1920 in Colquitt County and was the daughter of Jesse Daniel Willis and Mary Alice Dean Willis, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. John Early Bush, who died in 1977; two grandsons; and a son-in-law, Jack Doss. She was a homemaker and a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Colquitt County. She was the matriarch of the family and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed arts and crafts.
Mrs. Bush is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Norman and Betty Bush of Valdosta; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Shelby and Tommy Griffin of Omega, Linda and Wayne Archer of Bunnell, Florida and Jenell Doss of Tifton; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.
