Obituary

FRAMINGHAM: Barbara Ann (MacKinnon) Clapper, 82, died peacefully surrounded by her loving and devoted family on Tuesday evening June 17, 2014 following a brief illness.
She was born in Newton on August 16, 1931 the daughter of the late Daniel MacKinnon and Barbara E. (Rimmer) MacKinnon.
Barbara Ann is survived by her beloved children Eric B. Clapper and his wife Jeanne of Holliston; Elizabeth J. Sacco and her husband Nick of Milford and Nancy E. Schwartz and her husband Peter of Sherborn. Sister of Dale MacKinnon and his wife Judy of Natick and Dan MacKinnon of Cinnaminson, NJ. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the wife of the late Samuel M. Clapper who died on June 18, 2010.
Barbara Ann has been a resident of Framingham for over 58 years and spent her formative years in Newton Highlands and graduated from Newton High School.
She was an active member of Saint Andrews Episcopal Church in Framingham and served on the advisory board of Rainbow Girls. Barbara Ann was a former Grand Electa and Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star. She was an avid gardener at her home in Framingham and a member of the Pinefield Garden Club for many years. She was a gifted quilter, loved to needlepoint and a variety of crafts. In her earlier years, she also enjoyed golfing and bowling. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family who loved to go on camping trips, traveling throughout the United States and especially summering with them on Martha’s Vineyard. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her the most.
Visitations will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rte 30), Wayland.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 11:00 am at Saint Andrews Epsicopal Church, Buckminster Square, 3 Maple St, Framingham.
Interment to follow in Newton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers her family suggests that memorial gifts in Barbara Ann’s memory may be sent to Saint Andrew Episcopal Church.
