Laconia-----Lola Rose (Valentini) Cutillo, 90, of 21 Ledges Drive, Taylor Community, died at her home on Monday, June 16, 2014. Mrs. Cutillo was the widow of Ralph Cutillo who died in 2002.
Mrs. Cutillo was born November 26, 1923 in Taunton, Mass., the daughter of the late Adolpho and Maria (Agostini) Valentini. Mrs. Cutillo was a longtime resident of the Lakes Region and was a former communicant of Our Lady of the Lakes Church, Lakeport.
She will be remembered most for her vibrant personality and for being the cornerstone of her family. She will be missed tremendously for her storytelling, her sense of humor, the color she brought to everyone around her and the love and affection she unconditionally gave. A true matriarch, she was like a second mother to many and valued her family and friends more than anything. She loved old movies, children, reading, fashion and was a huge Patriots and Red Sox fan.
She and her late husband, Ralph, developed many restaurants and resorts in hospitality where she often worked as a bookkeeper and hostess. In 1968, they purchased Steele Hill Resorts in Sanbornton, NH, and developed the 520 acres. In 1977, the Cutillo Family brought timesharing to Steele Hill, which brought many tourists and employees to the Lakes Region.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen W. and Susan C. Cutillo of Gilford, N.H. and William F. and Susan B. Cutillo of Sanbornton, N.H.; three grandchildren, Catherine Remy Cutillo and her husband, Ross Sheehan, of Vergennes, Vt. and Douglas Cutillo and his wife, Dewina, of Concord, N.H. and Justin Cutillo and his wife, Michelle, of Gilford, N.H.; two great granddaughters, Eliana Cutillo of Concord and Remy Sheehan of Vergennes, VT, and a brother, Henry Valentini, of Florida.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 23, 2014 from 4:00-7:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Andre Bessette Parish at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, N.H.
Burial will follow in the Cutillo Family Cemetery, Steele Hill, Sanbornton, N.H.
