Obituary

Dale (Pete) A. Peterson 84, of Ledyard, died Thursday June 12 at home with his family by his side.

He was born May 23, 1930 in Stanton Iowa to the late Carl and Honorine
Peterson. On November 26, 1954 he married the love of his life Jeannette Webber in New London Ct.

Pete was a US Navy submarine service veteran and also retired from the US Postal Service in Groton Ct. He was a member of the Hugo A. Simonelli Post 3263, Fleet Reserve and Sub VetsClub. He was also a member of the Holland Club. He was a fan of the UConn Huskies basketball teams and the Red Sox.

In addition to his wife he is survived by four children, daughter Jeri of Naples Fl, sons Bill of Groton, Rick (Monica)of Naples Fl, and Charlie of Ledyard Ct. He is also survived by brothers Stanley (Janice) and Norman both of Stanton Iowa, Vince of Placentia Ca, and sister Joann (Joe) of Minneapolis, Minnesota as well as brother-in-law, Bill Webber (Rose) of Groton and sister-in-law Cheryl Street of Alabama. He leaves many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
He was predeceased in death by his son Dale Jr. and brother Donald (Janice).

Pete's family would like to thank his doctors, Dr. McDermott, Dr. Ginsberg and Dr. Fazio. Also a special thank you goes to Hospice R.N. Susannah, and Jim for their wonderful care and support.

A Graveside Service with full military honors will be held on Friday, June 20th, at 11:00 am at the Starr Hill Burial Ground, Lestertown Road, Groton.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Center for Hospice SECT or the charity of your choice.
