Lillian “Auntie Jennie” T. Stevens, 96, formerly of Londonderry, NH died in Windham Terrace, Windham, NH. Mrs. Stevens was born in Derry, NH on August 5, 1917 a daughter of the late Adam and Elmire (Rousseau) Bournival. She spent most of her life in NH, though she lived in Melbourne, FL for 26 years. She was a graduate of St. George’s High School, Hesser Business College, and the Notre Dame Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse for many years in both NH and MA. Mrs. Stevens was a US Army veteran of WWII, and a retired Lt. Colonel in the Army Reserve. She was a communicant of St. Mark’s Church, a member of the Red Hatters Chapter, both of Londonderry, and Shirley’s Friends of Derry.
She is survived by two nieces, Judith Newcomb of Windham, Clara Elizabeth Duff of Florida, four nephews, Kenneth Simpson of Londonderry, Ronald Gagnon of Amesbury, MA, and Howard Bournival and Herbert Bournival, both of Ohio. She also leaves numerous grandnieces and grandnephews, numerous great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews, and many close friends. She was predeceased by her first husband, John McNeice, her second husband, James Stevens, a brother, Hector Bournival, and four sisters, Yvonne Bournival, Eva Gagnon, Ena Bournival, and Lucy Simpson.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Friday June 20, 2014 in St. Mark’s Church, One South Rd., Londonderry. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Community Caregivers of Greater Derry, 58 E. Broadway, Derry, NH 03038.
