Carolyn A. Sumner, 63, of Derry, NH, formerly of Londonderry, NH, passed Sunday, June 15, 2014, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center of Lebanon, surrounded by her loving children. She was born February 13, 1951 in Boston, MA and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marygrace (Perriello) Penny. Carolyn was raised and educated in Medford, MA and was a graduate of Malden Girls Catholic School. She had been a resident of Londonderry since 1973, prior to relocating to Derry to be near her daughter.
Carolyn had been employed in the food industry most of her life. She was the owner of Shenanigans Restaurant of Londonderry and had most recently been a Training Store Manager with Wendy’s International. She was very devoted to her work, but her true passion was her family. Carolyn will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who dedicated her life to her family.
Members of the family include four children, Steven Giusti and his wife Elisa of Georgetown, MA, Michelle Trulson, of Derry, Joseph Giusti and his wife Lindsay of Dover and Caroline Murray and her husband Kevin of Manchester, eight grandchildren, Taylor, Devon, Joseph, Rylan, Aidan, Tristan, Olivia, Haley and a great grandson, Dalton, as well as her dearest lifelong friend, Irene Nikias of Derry.
At the request of the family, following cremation, private services are being planned. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry is assisting the family with arrangements.
