Obituary

Louis Perry, 92 of Westport, husband of the late ‘Dolly’ Perry, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage died after a brief illness on Friday June 13. Born in Fall River he was a resident of Westport since 1962.

Louis served proudly during World War Two in the US Merchant Marine, having made the dangerous North Atlantic crossing in support of the D Day invasion. He was a member of the US Merchant Marine Veterans for many years and was a great supporter of our Veterans and all Veteran’s organizations.

He loved the ocean and was most at home on Narragansett Bay, where he enjoyed boating and shellfishing…digging clams into his 90th. Year.

He loved all animals, especially cats, and enjoyed feeding treats to the neighborhood cats and dogs. He was a supporter of Forever Paws – no kill shelter.

He enjoyed Patriots football, Red Sox baseball, thoroughbred horse racing, Professional Boxing, reading and good political discussions.

He was a man of great faith, never missed Mass and prayed the rosary daily.

He is survived by his sister Tina Therrien of Somerset and was brother to the late Antone and Joseph Perry both of Fall River. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed as a loving husband, generous uncle and godfather to his many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
