Augusta, GA - Rita D. Smith was born on June 29, 1952 to the late Sarah M. Davis and Robert L. Davis in Kimball, WV. She departed this life to begin her new life with JESUS on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Georgia Regents Medical Center.
Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Restoration Ministry International Christian Fellowship, 2404 Tobacco Road. Burial will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Gardens.
She was a former member of Whole Life Ministries, where she was faithful to the ministry and dedicated many years working in the Bookstore and serving the Lord with all her might. She loved ministry work and helped many people in her family and the community – wherever she found those who were in need. She was a prophet voice in the lives of her family and friends. Rita volunteered many hours working on the “Telephone Line” at TV-49, which is a local Christian Network, where she got the opportunity to pray with others and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In her early years, she was employed with the Department of Family and Children Services as a Case Worker in Easton, PA. She also worked many years at University Hospital and many other area hospitals in medical records.
Rita will be remembered most for her beautiful smile, her kindness, hospitality and her love of God. She desired for all to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. Her family feels the scripture “Well done good and faithful servant” best describes her days on the Earthly plain.

One brother-in-law; Lloyd Raiford: Three sisters-in-laws: Julia McDougal (Alexander), Augusta, GA; Viola Watts, Harlem, GA; Edith Marshall (Phillip); Augusta, GA; Nieces: Antoinette M. Liferidge (Darrell), Columbia, SC; Monica M. Davis , Charlotte, NC; Catina Thrasher; Jacksonville, FL; Sharon Raiford; Harlem, GA; sherry Johnson ( Horace), Thomson, GA; Selena Bush; Angela Marshall, Victoria Marshall, all of Augusta, GA. Nephews: Joe Nelson, Jr. Isaac Nelson, Jonathan Marshall, Augusta, GA. Great Nieces, Asia T. Woolley, Kynesha Davis, Aliyah Davis, Trinity Davis, Keliah, Great Nephews: Aleik Davis, Leon Stephens,Jr. Isaiah Davis, Keliah Davis: Great Great Niece: Chai’ Ane Woolley and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to service time.
