BEVERLY: Angela (Pappas) Schug, 88, of Prides Crossing, died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at her home. She was the beloved wife of Gunther A. Schug.
Born in Lawrence on May 26, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Aris and Katherine (Poulios) Pappas. She had resided in Lawrence for many years before moving to Beverly in 1957.
Angela was a longtime member of Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Christian Church in Andover. She loved to cook and enjoyed country music and especially time spent with her family. Her life was dedicated to her family.
In addition to her husband of fifty-eight years, she is survived by her son, Steven P. Schug and his wife, Maureen P. (Stevenson) of Beverly; her daughter, Karen S. Bartnicki and her husband, Paul of Beverly; two grandchildren, Melena and Carter Schug both of Beverly; a sister, Bessie Kenney of Methuen; a sister-in-law, Heike Fritsch of Merrimack, NH and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by five brothers, John, Harry, Thomas, William and George Pappas.
Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held on Tuesday prior to the service from 10 – 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
