Betty A. Cabral, 70, of New Bedford, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Alden Court Nursing Care & Rehabilitation Center, Fairhaven, after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Antone S. and Dorothy B. (Rounds) Cabral.
Born in Fall River she had resided in Westport for most of her life before moving to New Bedford in 1988. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a legal secretary for various area law offices. For many years, she also worked as a receptionist at Primary Care Partnership in Westport, a job she loved. Mrs. Cabral enjoyed all music, swimming at the beach and being outdoors. She was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to the Red Sox and Nascar.
Survivors include her daughter: Sue A. Pierce-Madden and her husband Richard of Westport; her son: Matthew C. Pierce and his wife Kerry of FL; her grandchildren: Ivy Mae Madden and Rebecca E. Pierce; as well as 2 nieces.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be at 1:30 P.M. on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at the Potter Funeral Home.
Memorial visitation will be from 12:00-1:30 P.M. prior to the service.
Interment will be private.
