Teresa Avila Costa, 38, of New Bedford, died Wednesday June 11, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of Rose C. (Santos) and John J. Costa, Jr., she lived in Dartmouth and New Bedford for most of her life. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth.
Teresa attended the Kennedy-Donovan Center. She had a lively personality and was a fashion diva. She loved her family, friends and school.
Survivors include her parents; her siblings, Wendy Frias and Joseph Costa, both of New Bedford, Melissa Edwards of Acushnet, Mary Green of Mattapoisett, and John Costa III of Dartmouth; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM in St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 4-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
