
William D. “Bill” Patterson, 81, of Louisville passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2014. He was a former member of St. Matthias Parish and current member at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish. Bill was a graduate of St. Xavier High School (Class of 1951); he was a veteran of the Korean War and a grateful member of Alcoholics Anonymous. Bill worked for American Airlines and retired from Phillip Morris in 1993 after 22 years. Bill loved, working in his garden with his prize worthy rose bushes; Pinwheels, Bounty paper towels, Krispy Kreme doughnuts, Folgers coffee, Graeter’s strawberry ice cream cones with a cherry on top, and Johnny Cash were also among the many simple pleasures he shared and enjoyed with his family and friends. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 62 years, Judy; his brother, Rollen; his six children, Bill (Barb), Charlie, Mary Shaughnessy (Dan), Tony (Julie), Donald, and Fred. He will also be missed by his 16 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 1:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway. His funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 5505 New Cut Road at 10:00am with interment services to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
