WEBSTER – John B. Stanick, Jr., 91, died Thursday, June 5, 2014 in Webster Manor after a period of declining health.
He leaves his sister, Mary E. Gutkoski of Webster. He was preceded in death by his sister, Anna U. St.Germain in 2005.
He was born in Webster, the son of John B. Stanick and Mary (Krolik) Stanick and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Bartlett High School. He then earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Nichols Junior College and then a Bachelor of Business Administration from Clark University.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
Mr. Stanick first worked as a statistician for the Welfare Department in Boston. He was a mail handler for the U.S. Postal Service in Worcester for 17 years before retiring in 1989.
He loved football and attended the Bartlett High School Thanksgiving Day Game until 2013.
Funeral services were held privately at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster.
