Maurice A. Bouvier, 83, of Woonsocket died Saturday morning at Trinity Health & Rehab Center. He was the husband of the late Yvonne (Jalette) Bouvier.
Born in Lowell, MA., he was the son of the late Damase and Helen (Filiatreault) Bouvier. He was raised in the Lowell area and resided in Woonsocket for over 40 years.
In his early adult life Mr. Bouvier was a Roman Catholic priest serving in the order of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI).
He went on to work for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and also Shove Insurance.
Maurice was an active parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs parish. He served in various roles at the church including Eucharistic Minister and Lector. Maurice enjoyed reading and learning about a variety of subjects.
He is survived by a daughter Michele E. Vien-Cesana and her husband, Raymond, of Woonsocket. He was the brother of Paul Bouvier, Therese Frenette, and the late Edmond Bouvier, Cecile Desmarais, Georgine Lyko, and Rose Faucher. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10:00 am in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are Friday from 5-8 pm in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket.
