Barbara C. McEwen
of Tewksbury
TEWKSBURY: Barbara C. (Waite) McEwen, age 84, a resident of Tewksbury since 1956, passed away at the Lowell General Hospital-Saints Campus on Saturday, June 7,2014.
She was the beloved wife of Ralph J. McEwen, who passed away on March 7, 2002.
Born in Malden on September 14, 1929, she was the daughter of the late John G. Waite and the late Ramona (Baldwin) Waite.
Barbara was raised in Medford, attended Medford schools and graduated from Medford High School.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as an Accounting Clerk by the Raytheon Corporation in Andover, where she worked for over 20 years.
Barbara enjoyed a warm sense of humor and loved a sharing a good joke or two with her children and their families.
She is survived by three children, William S. McEwen and his wife Nina, Ralph M. and his wife Christine, Lorraine A. Boardman and her husband Bruce, and the late Paul D. McEwen; one sister, Eleanor Eastman and her husband Edward; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Barbara was the mother of the late Paul D. McEwen.
Calling hours are Thursday, June 12, from 5-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 13, at 10 a.m., at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Lung Assoc., 460 Totten Pond Road, # 400, Waltham, MA 02451.
