Obituary

Donald Saunders McStay peacefully passed away on the morning of June 4th, 2014 at age 86, surrounded by beloved family members in his home in Norton, MA.

Born in Lynn, MA on September 4th, 1927, he was the eldest son of Herman C. McStay and Margaret (Saunders) McStay.

His accomplishments, to name only a few, began with his graduation from Swampscott High School and then from the University of Virginia.

Don joined the United States Navy, earning the rank of Second Lieutenant during World War II.

Don was the founder and president of both Cashall Components and Donabee Realty in Franklin, MA, as well as the Sport Air Flying School in Norfolk, MA.

His interests included golf, skiing, and flying model airplanes with the US Pylon Racing Team.

A man of immense faith, he was a lifetime member of the Christian Science community.

Donald is survived by his wife of 59 years, Beverly (Webber) McStay; his brother, Marshall McStay and wife, Diane; his four children, Lynne Karli and her husband, Mark; Leigh McStay; Charles McStay and his wife, Kathleen; Kimberly McStay; his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, June 12th from 12-2 pm at Ginley Funeral Home in Franklin, MA, followed by a service from 2-3 pm.

The burial will be on Friday, June 13th at 1 pm, at the Bourne National Veterans’ Cemetery on Connery Ave in Bourne, MA.
