Sarah Catherine "Katie" Sutton
August 2, 1926- June 6, 2014
Sarah Catherine "Katie" Sutton, 87, of Anderson, died June 6, 2014 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital following an extended illness. She was born on August 2, 1926 in Prospect Kentucky, the daughter of John and Clara (Mathis) Cozine.
She was the manager of the Anderson License Branch for over 25 years, and she served as the Madison County Recorder for 8 years. She was a member of the Cross Roads United Methodist Church, the Shrine Club, Eastern Star, and the Lady Republicans. She was a precinct committee woman for many years and received the Sagamore of the Wabash Award and the Lincoln Club Award.
Survivors include 4 daughters: Dianna (Rick) Smith of Florida, Jane Mundy, Debra Gutierrez, and Carmen Webb all of Anderson, a son, Edward A. Sutton Jr of Anderson. 15 grandchldren, 24 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren. 2 sisters, Annie Patterson and Charlotte Paul, and several nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Sutton Sr. who died March 21, 1989, 2 daughters, Janice Carter and Vikki Martin, 3 brothers and 6 sisters
Services will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 12 Noon at Rozelle Johnson Funeral Service officiated by Rev. John Hackney. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until Noon on the same day as the service.
