TAUNTON – Angel Colon, a Taunton resident since 1989, died at the Golden Living Center Wedgemere on May 31, 2014.
He was 79.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Jose and Gerarda (Vega) Colon.
A resident of New York for many years, Mr. Colon was a communicant of Taunton’s St. Mary’s Church.
With a fondness for music, Angel enjoyed playing the guitar and singing, and will be remembered for his religious nature.
His survivors include a brother, Ramon Montijo of Puerto Rico; four sisters, Sixta Colon, Efigenia Montijo and Teresa Montijo, all of Puerto Rico, and Luz Palmira Montijo of FL; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the sister of the late Angela Colon.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Thursday, June 12th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary’s Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at Mayflower Hill Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 11th from 5 to 8 p.m.
