WORCESTER-John H. Fortune, 52, of 13 Congress Street, formerly of 31 Lee Street, died Thursday, November 10th at home after a brief illness. He leaves his wife of 25 years, Lydia L. (Williams) Fortune, 2 daughters, Nicole and Danielle Fortune both of Worcester, his stepdaughter, Tasha (Conner) Sena of Worcester, his mother, Rita (Wilson) Fortune of Girard, PA, a brother, Paul Fortune of Leicester, a sister, Wendy Youngs of Girard, PA, 2 nieces Ashley Fortune of Leicester and Jessica Youngs of Girard, PA, 2 nephews, Tyler Fortune of Leicester and Lucas Youngs of Girard, PA, many friends including Edgar Harris and Joseph “Rocco” Savino and family all of Worcester.
He was born in Worcester the son of Harold Fortune and graduated in 1971 from Burncoat Senior High School. Mr. Fortune was a grounds keeper for Clark University for 7 years. Previously he was a dry cleaner for 30 years for several area businesses. He enjoyed hunting and gardening and was an avid supported of performing artists.
The funeral is Monday, November 15th at 10:00 AM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park, Avenue. Burial is in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Sunday, November 14th from 3:00 until 5:00 PM and 7:00 until 9:00 PM in the funeral home.
