Ann Frances (Schlaak) Miller, 71, passed away June 3, 2014.
She was a retired nurse of 42 years with St. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, a member of St. Paul Church, an active member of Ovarian Awareness of Kentucky, on the Advisory Board of Ovarian Awareness of Kentucky, also a member of Ovarian Cancer National Alliance.
Winner of the Dr. Lillian Yeager Spirit of Hope Award in 2009 and 2011.
Ann was a nine year survivor of ovarian cancer (Ann you said you would beat the odds and you did, courageously).
We would like to thank the wonderful staff at Summerfield Rehab. For the outstanding care they provided Ann.
Also, we wish to thank the following Drs. Barbar, T. Blackford, V. Briones, T. Brown, Cowley, J. Distler, A. Duff, Drs. Foster and Foster, J. Harris, C.W. Helm, L. June, M Jones, D. Pollares, D. Pomeroy and V. Raghaven for their outstanding care for Ann.
Ann is survived by her husband of 49 years, Robert F. Miller; children, Christopher F. Miller (Cathy), Patrick W. Miller, and Cynthia A Hicks (Trent); grandchildren, Madison J. and Margaret A. Miller and Mariah Hicks; great-granddaughter, Aubriella; brother, John R. Schlaak; sisters, Mary L. Stewart, Christine M. Roberson and Paula J. Lanham; Many wonderful nieces and nephews; Last, but not least my O.A.K. Sisters.
Ann funeral mass will be Saturday at 12 Noon at St. Paul Church, 6901 Dixie Highway with cremation to follow.
Visitation will be Friday 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. and Saturday after 9 A.M. at the funeral home.
