Maria R. (Mercurio) Shaheen of Medford passed away peacefully at Carelton Willard Village in Bedford. She was 93.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Pantaleone and the late Anna (Angelo) Mercurio. A Medford resident for most of her life, Maria worked as an executive secretary for an engineering firm and later for First National Stores. A devoted wife and loving aunt, Maria enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
The beloved wife of the late Samuel A. Shaheen who passed away in 2009, she was a dear sister to Concetta Bonanno of Newport, NH and the late Anthony Mercurio and Catherine Dennis. She leaves her sisters-in-law: Hilda Mercurio and Mary Shaheen. Maria was a loving aunt to Ann Peters, John Dennis, Karen Thompson and the late Peter Mercurio as well as many nieces and nephews from her husband’s side of the family.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday, June 7th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St. at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit at the funeral home on Friday 4 - 7 PM.
