Lindley “Lee” Shaw Jr., 72, of Windham, NH, passed away Monday, June 2, 2014 at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 5, 1942 in Woburn, MA, a son of the late Lindley L. and Lorraine (Leathe) Shaw. In his earlier years, Mr. Shaw was an avid runner and an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed bird watching, fishing, camping and snowmobiling. He loved spending time with his family. Mr. Shaw received the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award from the Windham Lions Club where he was a founding member and treasurer for 44 years. He was also a member of the Boston Plumbers and Gasfitters Local #12, having received a 40+ year Award. Lee founded and operated LL Shaw Plumbing and Heating in Windham for 45 years.
He is survived by his wife, Olive “Birdie” (Drummey) Shaw of Windham, one daughter, Bonnie Eckerman and her husband Jonathan of Chester, NH, one son, Bradley Shaw and his wife Pamela of Plaistow, NH, six grandchildren, Miranda, Jonah, Mia, Brody, Emme and Jacob, daughter in law, Sara Shaw of Virginia, two sisters, Natalie Perry and her husband Michael of Stratham, NH, and Loralin Pearce and her husband Steven of N. Hampton, NH, one brother, Richard Shaw of Rochester, NH, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son, Jeffrey P. Shaw in 2003.
Calling hours were held on Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 4 – 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. Funeral services were held on Friday June 6th at 10:00am in the Windham Presbyterian Church, 1 Church Road, Windham. Burial followed in the Cemetery on the Plain in Windham. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Windham Lions Club, Jeffrey P. Shaw Memorial Scholarship Fund, C/O Windham Lions Club, PO Box 312, Windham, NH 03087-0312.
