Obituary

Lola Pilis, 90, of Noank, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 1, 2014. She was the wife of Edward Pilis who predeceased her in 1978.

She was born October 19, 1923 in Lithuania, the daughter of Antanas and Elizabeth Davalis.

Lola lived in Noank for 40 years. She was very active in the Groton Senior Center and was involved in the Lithuanian community. Interested in new places, she traveled extensively, often accompanied by one or more of her many friends.

She is survived by her son Casey and his wife Carol of Clinton, CT. In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her daughter, Elizabeth Pilis and her brother Henry Davalis.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00am at St. Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church, 69 Groton Long Point Road, Groton. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, River Road, Old Mystic.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Center for Hospice Care of Southeastern CT, 227 Dunham Street, Norwich CT 06360.
