John L. Sullivan, 78, of Londonderry, NH passed away at his home on Sunday, June 1, 2014. He was born on October 24, 1935 in Woburn, MA, a son of the late David and Margaret (Mallon) Sullivan. He was a resident of Londonderry for 40 years, formerly living in Burlington, MA. Mr. Sullivan retired as a Sergeant First Class from the US Army where he proudly served his country. He was employed for over 20 years as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service. Mr. Sullivan was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine (Hogan) Sullivan of Londonderry; six children, Kevin Sullivan of New York City, NY, John Sullivan of Santa Catalina, Panama, Hope Gagnon of Londonderry, Kathryn Edmiston of Boston, MA, Susan Charpentier of Manchester, NH, and Erin Sullivan of Rye, NH; eight grandchildren, Joey, Tiffany, Gerrett, John L., Toni Vitella, Jaclyn, David and Michael; one great granddaughter, Ava; his siblings, Joan Collins of Wells, ME, David Sullivan of Revere, MA, and Brenda Ricci of Cliffwood, NJ; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held on Wednesday, June 4th from 3 – 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. Funeral services were held on Thursday at 10:00am in the funeral home. The burial followed in the Pillsbury Cemetery, Hovey Road, Londonderry.
