Mildred E. “Millie” (Brown) Medeiros, age 75 of Loxahatchee, FL, formerly of Wareham and Brockton, died May 28, 2014 in Florida after a period of failing health. Born in Oxford, MA she was the daughter of the late Joseph L. and Mary E. (Baumgardt) Brown and graduated from Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School. Millie moved to Florida in 2007 to be closer to her daughter Deborah. She had previously lived in Wareham since 1985 at Garden Homes North and Redwood Park. She had also lived in Brockton for ten years.
Millie had been employed by International Homemakers of Brockton, a homemaker service. She was a devout Christian woman who professed her faith in God and was very active in her church. She attended the Nazarene Church in Wareham and the First Baptist Church in Brockton. Millie enjoyed walking, writing letters and corresponding by e-mail to military troops serving abroad.
Millie is survived by her children, Deborah Baker and her husband Donald of Loxahatchee, FL, Joseph Medeiros of Harwich, MA and Michael Medeiros of Colorado Springs, CO. She leaves 14 grandchildren. She was the sister of Lillian Kroeger of Coppers Cove, TX, Carl Brown of Webster Webster, MA Francis Brown of Webster or Oxford, MA and the late Donald Brown. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Millie’s Life will be held at the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123), Brockton, MA on Tuesday at 11 am with visitation beginning at 9:30 am. Burial in Union Cemetery, Brockton.
