Hortense (Furtado) Souza of Somerset, age 96 passed away May 30, 2014. She was the wife of the late Manuel M. Souza and daughter of the late Manuel Sardinha Furtado and Frances (Oliveira) Furtado. She had worked as a seamstress in the local garment industry and was a parishioner of St. Thomas More Church.
Hortense was the sister of Hilda F. Mello of Fall River and the late Lena Suspiro, Laura Masse, Charles Furtado, Frank Furtado. She leaves goddaughter Lisa Dugal and niece Nancy Southworth and several other nieces and nephews.
Her private funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on TUESDAY at 9:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian burial in St. Thomas More Church at 10:00 A.M.. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Fall River.
