Sandra J. Carrender, 66, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. Born in Erlanger, she retired from the Jefferson County School Board with 22 years of service, and was Methodist by faith. She’s a graduate of Shawnee High School an avid reader, UofK fan, enjoyed bingo and ceramics. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Robert; also, her children, Amy Carrender (Josh Spenton), Robin Crain (David) and Pattie Hall (John); her sister, Peggy Berge (Tom); five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her funeral will be 2 pm Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy, with Burial at Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday and Monday. Family request donations be made to the American Heart Association.
